Pneumatic Precision Machining Services

For more than four decades, Moseys has proudly delivered the highest quality precision machined parts and components for pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Moseys is proud to continue to be the go-to precision machining service for clients seeking exceptionally engineered pneumatic and hydraulic parts and components. Our technicians have decades of experience engineering and fabricating parts for vacuum pumps, HVAC systems, air compressors, air brakes, air guns, and pneumatic systems for medical and automotive applications. Though there is a diverse assortment of pneumatic systems across industries, Moseys offers the skill, experience, and dedication to excellence that ensures exceptional results, regardless of the complexity of the component or the tightness of the tolerance.

Pneumatic parts must be fabricated using specific materials capable of enduring pressurized environments and wide temperature ranges. It’s crucial to have in-depth experience in precision machining using a wide variety of metals and plastics, and the engineers at Moseys are specialists in custom machining metals, composites, and plastics. We produce precision pneumatic parts and fittings using the following materials:

  • Aluminum. This corrosion-resistant, lightweight metal is a common material in pneumatic parts and fittings. It has both low density and low tensile strength, and is often alloyed with other metals to enhance its durability.
  • Brass. Brass is used in pneumatic fittings because it is corrosion-resistant like aluminum, but it is stronger and more durable. It offers superior machinability, and is frequently used for threaded fittings.
  • Steel. Steel offers exceptional heat tolerance and durability, though it is often alloyed with other metals and coated with zinc to improve corrosion and chemical resistance.
  • Stainless steel. This strong alloy offers excellent corrosion and chemical resistance while being just as strong as steel. Stainless steel is roughly 10 percent chromium.
  • Fluororesins. These plastics are fluorocarbon-based synthetic materials. They are highly heat resistant, and perform extremely well in temperature conditions above 500° F. This polymer also offers extremely effective chemical resistance.
  • Polypropylene. This is a thermoplastic that is widely used in pneumatic applications because it is an extremely high-performing yet low-cost material. It is highly resistant to weathering and is an all-around durable plastic.

Pneumatic fittings and components often contain composites, which are amalgamated materials, such as combinations of carbon fiber and certain alloys. These materials are generally lightweight than their metal counterparts and highly durable, and can have twice the strength-to-weight ratio as steel, with greater fatigue life than aluminum or magnesium.
